Cooperative Learning

Author Contributors: Nancy Ruppert

Goals:

  • Examine your individual views of critical thinking, cooperative learning and cultural competence by researching articles and listening to webinars.

  • Consider using cooperative learning in a segment to determine student outcomes and student satisfaction with their own abilities to self-regulate.

  • Critical thinking skills that are taught can help students with problem solving and comprehension. Consider specific tools to teach critical thinking, and pilot a unit each nine weeks to assess how students use the tools and how they perform.

  • After reviewing the webinar on cultural competence, rate where you are on each of the strategies presented. Consider adding or enhancing a strategy each nine weeks.
