I have always had an adventurous spirit and I think that middle school is a continuous adventure. Each student brings a unique perspective to the classroom and everyday something new and different happens. I get energized by the idea that these students are defining the people they want to be in this world and the difference that they want to make.
As middle level teachers we have the power to take part in that. If we believe that all students are capable and we promote that mindset in our interactions with them then we can help them develop the skills to make this world a better place. Middle level students are so passionate, about everything! There is never a dull moment. There are days with lots of laughter and/or lots of tears. It’s a great place to be.
